Chester’s food and drink scene just levelled up for the summer. Perched atop a city centre multi-storey car park, Rooftop Social Club has unveiled its brand-new seasonal makeover, transforming the space into a sun-soaked hub of food, games and good times.
First opened last autumn, the venue was designed with all-year versatility in mind. With its retractable roof and cosy cabanas, it worked perfectly as a winter hideaway. Now, with the warmer weather, the team has leaned into the summer mood — and the results are set to impress.
At the heart of the refresh is a brand-new Spritz Bar in partnership with Aperol, perfect for that after-work drink or weekend session in the sunshine. Alongside the bar, two full-size shuffle lanes have replaced the winter curling tracks, bringing a new competitive edge to evenings on the roof. For those after something more relaxed, classic outdoor games are scattered across the space, making it as easy to kick back as it is to get competitive.
Food lovers aren’t forgotten either. The venue already boasts a solid line-up — Enzo’s Pizza, Death by Tacos, The Fat Greek, and Bembé Grill by Chester Zoo — but this summer a fifth pop-up kitchen is rolling in. Housed in Rooftop Social’s signature airstream trailer, the new addition will broaden the choice even further, cementing the space as one of Chester’s most exciting dining destinations.
Founder Ian Gordon of iKO Projects explains:

Whether you’re here for the food, the drinks, the games or just to relax in the sun, we can’t wait to welcome you this summer.”
And if food, drinks and games weren’t enough, the club is also home to the weekly Big Fat Quiz on the Roof. Every Sunday at 7pm, visitors can test their knowledge and win up to £250 in cash prizes, along with plenty of smaller rewards.
Even better, the venue is dog-friendly, so you don’t need to leave your four-legged friends at home.
Opening times: Wednesday to Sunday, 12pm–10pm. No booking required — just head up, grab a drink, and enjoy the view.
